Why I love engagements in Knights Ferry

Blanca & Rudy

July 9, 2021

It hasn't been too long since I last gotten a chance to shoot engagement session at the beautiful and historic Knights Ferry.  It was so nice to be back on the beautiful grounds with Blanca & Rudy. We must have seen about 15 or so wild turkeys while we were there!  Which is more than I would normally see, but that’s probably due to the fact that there hasn’t been very many people walking the grounds over the last year and a half!

The stunning big oak trees that shade the grounds add so much elegance to this location.  The beauty of the Stanislaus running river brings a cool breeze to the summer time heat.  While shooting this session I am constantly mindful of the majestic beauty of our state and what we have here in California because it’s constantly available to us.  Now that I know what it’s like to lose access to this gorgeous place, I will never take it for granted again.

Before you enter the Knights Ferry there is a gift shop that is closed more due to the pandemic, but inside the gift shop at the entrance is where you can find souvenirs, hiking sticks, children’s toys, etc.  I love to pick up something to bring home to my son when I shoot there, like a wooden cork gun.

These two were so sweet together! I love watching my couples interact together during their sessions, and these two were no different! In fact, some of these images were “test” shots and they were just so naturally adorable that the test became part of their gallery!
